Two cleaning methods and precautions for FRP oil tanks

Author:

The FRP oil storage tank needs to be cleaned and maintained after being used for a period of time. Specific cleaning and maintenance methods and details will be described in detail below. FRP oil storage tanks should be cleaned and maintained frequently during use. Here are some cleaning precautions:
1. When entering the GRP storage tank for maintenance, close all feed valves, drain and clean the tank. After the test, please confirm that there is no toxic gas in the tank and enter the oil tank without insufficient oxygen. Soft soled shoes, fasten the safety belt, and fasten the other end of the safety belt to the top of the tank. Pay attention to the ventilation of the tank. When entering the oil storage tank, personnel must operate under the supervision of the tank.
2. In order to prevent the tool from hitting the tank wall, please use the same ladder and metal parts that contact the tank wall to add a cushion to prevent scratching and bruise the inner wall.
3. Before climbing, carefully check the external ladder, cage and guardrail of the FRP tank to ensure safety and reliability. Climbing is strictly prohibited under abnormal conditions.
4. During maintenance, do not load the oil tank at will, and do not exert external force on the receiver.
5. After being used outdoors for many years, the resin layer peeled off or the fiber was exposed due to the aging of the surface layer. It is recommended that the outer surface of the oil tank be coated with paint or resin every two to three years to prevent aging and prolong its service life.
Here are two specific cleaning methods:
1、 Safety requirements and procedures for steam flushing.
1. Drain the oil tank.
2. Vent the oil and gas in the oil tank and measure the concentration to a safe range.
3. Personnel enter the oil tank to remove oil, water and other deposits.
4. Clean with steam. This method is mainly used to clean viscous oil tank.
5. Wash the oil stains with high-pressure water, drain the sewage, and dry clean with wood chips.
6. Remove wood chips from the oil tank and use copper tools to remove local rust.
7. Thoroughly remove dirt with a mop.
8. Check and accept the quality of the cleaning tank.
2、 Safety requirements and procedures for chemical cleaning.
1. Remove the oil in the oil tank.
2. Vent the oil and gas in the oil tank and measure its concentration to a safe range.
3. Personnel enter the oil tank to clean oil, water and other deposits.
4. Water washing system and equipment for buried storage tank with tank washer.
5. The pickling and rust removal time is 90~120min.
6. Remove the acidic solution, rinse it with water for about 20 minutes, and make the rinse solution neutral.
